BCPA Lawn
Captain Geech & The Shrimp Shack Shooters were formed in 2000, inspired by the fictional band from That Thing You Do! Created by manager/drummer J. Bird, the group set out to deliver high-energy entertainment and quickly became a Midwest favorite.
Known for their non-stop, dance-driven shows, the band brings Top 40 hits from the ’70s and ’80s to life at festivals, fairs, and venues across the region. With accolades like “Best Band” and “Best Cover Band,” and performances alongside major acts, Captain Geech continues to be a go-to “Party For Hire,” keeping crowds on their feet night after night.
First Friday Concerts, presented by the BCPA and Gibson Area Hospital, take place on the BCPA Lawn from 7–10 PM and feature live music, food trucks, and drinks in a relaxed outdoor setting. Tickets are $5, or free with a receipt from a Downtown Bloomington business—just bring your lawn chairs or blankets and enjoy a summer night of great music!
